Bonnie E. Wheeler practices in the area of land use law. Wheeler has been involved in complex commercial and residential real estate litigation. She also has experience assisting with a broad range of land use and development issues, including zoning, planning, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), coastal development and historic preservation matters. Additionally, Wheeler has handled rent control, affordable housing, code enforcement and Fair Housing matters.

Prior to joining HLKK law, Wheeler practiced real estate and business litigation with a law firm based in Santa Monica where she handled a variety of civil litigation matters. Wheeler has frequently represented clients before the Superior Court at the Santa Monica Courthouse.

Wheeler was also the recipient of a UCLA Law Presidential Fellowship where she practiced education law at The Alliance for Children's Rights and represented foster children throughout Los Angeles County. While in law school, Wheeler participated in the El Centro Legal Landlord Tenant Clinic and served as a writing advisor to first year law students.

Wheeler is an active member of the Santa Monica Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association.
