Clients - Alcohol Permits
We obtained the approvals necessary for alcohol service at the hotel through in-room alcohol cabinets and in other hotel public areas, including adjacent to the outdoor swimming pool. We also obtained the approvals necessary for alcohol service in two restaurant spaces at the ground floor of the hotel for independent operators, including the potential for outdoor dining at both restaurants.
BOA Steakhouse, Sushi Roku and Robata Bar
We represented Innovative Dining Group in obtaining and amending their alcohol CUPs for three Ocean Avenue restaurants in Santa Monica: BOA Steakhouse, Sushi Roku and Robata Bar.
Main Street Restaurant (formerly Schatzi’s on Main)
In the early 1990s we assisted Arnold Schwarzenegger in securing all necessary approvals for his restaurant in Santa Monica, including taking the lead role in several contested hearings at the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. More recently, we assisted the new owners of this restaurant, renamed Cache, to amend and update their alcohol CUP and then represented them in the sale of the restaurant.
Le Merigot Hotel/Cezanne Restaurant
We helped obtain the necessary permits for alcohol service at the hotel through in-room alcohol cabinets, at the hotel’s restaurant and bar and in other hotel public areas, including adjacent to the outdoor swimming pool.
Whole Foods Market
We assisted in obtaining the alcohol CUP for Whole Foods Market at 2201 Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica.
Ocean Park Entertainment Group retained our firm to assist in obtaining the permits needed for opening this dance club on Santa Monica’s Main Street. This work included obtaining approval for the purchase of a Type 48 alcohol license, obtaining interim licensure to sell alcohol during a challenge to the license transfer, and defending the license in front of the State Alcoholic Beverage Control Appeals Board.
Chinois On Main
We obtained the approvals necessary to serve alcohol in a private dining room adjacent to this world-famous restaurant, including a zoning ordinance amendment and a parking variance.
The Georgian Hotel retained our firm to assist in amending the hotel’s CUP to allow alcohol service to the general public in addition to hotel guests.
The Lobster Restaurant
Our firm represented the owners of this upscale restaurant at the entrance to the Santa Monica Pier in defense of their challenged liquor license before the State Administrative Law Judge.
We assisted the Oceana Hotel in obtaining City approval to allow in-room alcohol cabinets and alcohol service for hotel guests in the hotel’s restaurant.
Pourtal Wine Bar
We obtained an alcohol CUP and a coastal waiver for this restaurant/wine bar which utilizes the latest technology in automated wine tasting machines.
Future Downtown restaurant
We represented the owner of the building located at 1401 Ocean Avenue in obtaining approvals for an alcohol CUP and parking variance to allow a future restaurant in a vacant ground floor space along Santa Monica Boulevard.
